Ethylene oxide in sesame from India

We were informed by the BLE that many organic sesame consignments from India were treated with the biocide ethylene oxide.

Ethylene oxide is a health hazard and not approved by EU Regulation 2019/2164 as a pesticide in organic farming. A number of measures have been approved by the EU in this regard (see Regulation 2020/1540).

We therefore request that you explicitly notify us of all deliveries of sesame from India:
