Bio stands for assured quality and high-value products. In the new EU organic regulation, the precautionary obligations to "avoid the presence of unauthorised products and substances" will be specified from next year. All organic business entrepreneurs will then have to draw up a concept to identify critical risks of contamination by unauthorised products and substances on their farm and to take precautionary measures to avoid them.
But what are the concrete risks involved?
Where does corporate responsibility begin and end?
What does a systematic approach to identifying critical points look like? What are "proportionate and appropriate" precautionary measures?
How can the requirements be implemented at the company level and documented for operational control?
In the joint project "Identification of Critical Control Points and Precautionary Measures to Safeguard Organic Integrity (BioKKP)", these questions were answered together with practitioners from organic companies, consulting and control. Specially developed practical guidelines and other working tools support organic entrepreneurs in the practical implementation of the legal requirements:
